The Employment Partnership Group (EPG) is made up of representatives for Employment Services Providers, Registered Training Organisations and Disability Employment Services in Burnie.
The group was pivotal in responding to need through COVID 19 and was instrumental in the running of two events in 2020 and early 2021.
The Future Jobs and Skills Expo was an event that EPG were heavily involved in. The target audience for this expo was mature aged job seekers.
In February 2021, industry representatives from Burnie’s future job sectors, regional training providers and employment services filled out the Burnie Arts & Function Centre to talk to Job Seekers, aged 18 plus. The feedback from this event was overwhelmingly positive.
At the end of 2022 EPG members worked with Hellyer College to run a Beyond Year 12 mini-expo. This has led to opportunities for further engagement to support the transition from school to work.
The EPG will be running a number of forums with community services and industry to better understand the support that can be provided to job seekers to meet the requirements of businesses in the region.
