Books in Homes

Books in Homes provides books of choice to families and children. It aims to inspire young people to develop a love of reading, prepare for school and develop reading skills for life.

Books in Homes is available to children who attend a Launching into Learning program at a primary school in Burnie or at the Burnie Child and Family Learning Centre. Children can choose three books and they will receive them in a personalised book bag.

Launching into Learning is a FREE program available right here in Burnie aimed at supporting children (aged from birth to 4 years) to get a great start!

We know from recent data released by the Productivity Commission that the rate of children staying home from school is on the rise. We are pleased that we can run programs such as Books in Homes, as we know that supporting children’s learning in their early years helps them to successfully transition into school. In children’s education, Every Day Counts and this begins in the early years. We hope families in Burnie enjoy reading these books together.
