The Justice working group was formed in response to community priorities identified in 2020. The working group has been explored and discussed  the youth justice and family violence system in our community.

Justice members work in areas impacted by the justice system.

The Working Group’s purpose was to:

  • Build relationships and connections across the justice system.

  • Share information, knowledge, and resources.

  • Understand and identify strengths and gaps in the system.

  • Use collective impact and systems thinking to develop and work on common projects. Address gaps and strengthen the system, focusing on early intervention.

  • Identify and increase linkages of referral pathways for the community.

  • Use networks and influence within the system to advocate for change, where necessary.

In 2023, we held Justice Conversations to further explore issues and topics around lived experience. These included family and intimate partner violence and the youth justice system. A small working party was formed to develop and design the next iteration of the Justice working group. They also aim to explore how our communities can create positive change.

Note: Our aim is to involve everyone and provide a safe space. But, this space may not be suitable for everyone with lived experience. This is especially true for people currently in the system, as seeking legal supports here could create conflicts for you.
