Celebrating the Impact of Regional Research and Education Conference

Our Community Knowledge Project Officer Shandel presented at the 2022 Regional Impact Conference earlier this month.

Researchers from all over the country converged on Devonport for a big day of ideas, information, research and discovery with a theme of celebrating the research and education shaping the future of regional Australia.

Our presentation/workshop was called ‘Fostering partnerships with community: An interactive workshop with Burnie Works exploring possibilities for interdisciplinarity in addressing social change’ where we learned about:

  • Burnie Works, collective impact, systems change, place-based practice and our theory of change.
  • The Burnie Works Community Knowledge Collection project which aims to build the capacity of community members to continuously capture what is happening on the ground.
  • The work we have done with UTAS which illustrated how interdisciplinarity has worked so far between UTAS and Burnie Works.

We look forward to continuing building our relationship with UTAS and how we continue to work together and thank them for the invitation.
